The “Stop being a couch potato” project is still running and is quite successful. The project is primarily aimed at young people without employment or qualifications, the so-called NEET’s. The number of NEET’s in Poland is constantly growing – according to the latest data it was over 1,2 million people.

Therefore all activities related to youth activation on the labour market are necessary and needed. Recently, an interactive on-line training for employees of Labour Offices from Silesian Voivodeship took place.

 

Another training behind us

On 25th of February another edition of on-line training 'Success on the labour market was held- social and entrepreneurial competences’ for representatives of Public Employment Services from Silesian Voivodeship.

The training was attended by 12 employees of District Employment Offices in Częstochowa, Jaworzno, Katowice, Pszczyna and Ruda Śląska.

 

Stand up from the couch – a project for NEET’s

During the workshops, professional advisors from the Provincial Labour Office presented the assumptions and results of the project „Get up from the couch! Development of social and entrepreneurial competences for NEETs” (Strategic Partnership Project in the field of adult education, financed by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ programme).

The presenters presented materials available on the online platform created within the Project and two scenarios of workshops addressed to young people developed in Poland. An important element was the presentation of experiences and methodological tips related to work with young people.

 

High interest in the training

The training is very popular. From October 2020 to February 2021 9 editions were implemented. In total, nearly 100 people participated in them. They were representatives of 25 district employment offices from Silesian Voivodeship, Voivodeship Employment Office in Kraków and Career Counseling Forum from Jaworznica (vocational counselors and teachers of local schools).
